Reproduced below is a very interesting letter from the leaders of the so called Greater Nebraska Schools Association, note how they say they are "Representing Nebraska's public schools". How fascinating, since there are well over 250 public K-12 districts in the state and many more elementary only districts. The GNSA appears to be 28 "big" schools, but they seem to be very potent politically.......Take a look at their quote below (we liked it so well we put an arrow there) in relationship to apparently not wanting legislation that is based on a printout. Well, so much for factual data!!!!! Actually they may feel with some justification that they can pass or stop about whatever law they choose, especially if facts are ignored? Take a look (following the letter) at the GNSA actual performance. Then they appear to oppose the addition of just a few small Nebraska K-12 districts in to the painfully tiny number of rural schools classified as "sparse" (less than 4.5% of students in the huge and sparsely populated state of Nebraska are allowed to attend schools more properly supported with the few extra dollars allowed in the "sparse" fiscal grouping.) Make your own conclusions......
