Is this efficiency? How can top performing, exceptionally effective smaller rural schools be penalized for their "efficiency" as wealthy Omaha is allowed to raise their budget 6.5% while having a growing drop-out rate of 8.14%? Doesn't this literally make a mockery of so-called "accountability" efforts? Excellent schools are devastated while poor performing but powerful schools are apparently increasingly rewarded?
Over in Lincoln, it is reported that the school budget is planned to increase an astronomical 6.6%....while the pupil growth is reportedly only one-quarter of one percent! It was said that the new school budget for Lincoln would provide for more new employees (98) than they expect new students (80).
